What is the MARSTAR?*

The MARitime Surface Training and Aviation Readiness (MARSTAR) is a converted Offshore Supply Vessel (OSV), sometimes referred to as a Platform Supply Vessel (PSV). These vessels are designed for hard work in the oceans. They are prized for their stability (both active and passive systems) and ruggedness as well as their flexible design.

The MARSTAR is fitted with a MILSPEC steel flight deck similar to a DDG or CG single-spot landing area and meets all Naval Vessel Rules (NVR) for safe military operations.

From Day 1, the MARSTAR is ready to go to work, and because of the design characteristics, can grow and adapt with the needs and technological advancements of the fleet.

Who is the MARSTAR made for?

The MARSTAR is designed for US Military as a high-quality training vessel to supplement fleet vessels that are either needed around the world on national tasking or when back home require repair, refit, and upgrade while their crews need well-earned dwell time for morale.

The MARSTAR is designed with aviation warfare, surface warfare, and special warfare all in mind.

From its design to its crewing, the MARSTAR is made to provide realistic training and able to pivot rapidly from one mission to the next with no re-tooling or reconfiguration delays.

The resilient design incorporates very high levels of reliability which translates to very high availability.
